This is the size of the inlet and the outlet of the regulator. Both the inlet and outer are connected to your compressor. There are some regulators that have universal NPT size and they will fit any air compressor.
On the other hand, some regulators have fixed NPT sizes for particular air compressors’ NPT. You have to match this size with your air compressor to get the right regulator for your compressor.
Operating Pressure Level
The operating pressure level will let you set the maximum pressure to a particular level. This has to match your air compressor too.
